How we make our pieces:
Each book in this series is meticulously hand carved or etched, hand dyed, hand finished and hand bound. Each image carved onto these books is an original created from our inspirations, which include: fantasy, travelling to ancient ruins, history and mythology. Some of these books are also hand painted with special leather paints and overlays. The leather used is an ethically sourced tooling hide that softens in over time. All of the leather used for these books is vegetable tanned and is a byproduct of the food industry. The acid free wheat straw pages are great for: writing, drawing, sketching, pen, pencil, etc. The classic bind used on these books gives an elegant old-world finish and allows the user or local book-binding clubs to easily rebind the book with any type of paper. The dyes used are an environmentally friendly water based dye which leaves a rich hand-finished touch on each book bringing out the unique highlights, grains, and character of each piece of leather*. We use a variety of different, hand applied, finishes to both protect and emphasize the leathers natural beauty. Finishes may include, but are not limited to, any or all of the following depending on the piece: high quality oils, waxes, gums, and protective coats. Each book is hand buffed once the finishes have set to give it a resilient sheen.

This book was inspired by Alberta's provincial crest and custom developed from there. We created both the custom leather casing, complete with a custom "Alberta" Logo stamp on the inner flap, and the brass Alberta crest from scratch. The colouring on the metal is also custom. Each metal component, made in our Alberta, Canada, studio, is the product of a rigorous 35-45 step process (around 35 per earring or pendant and between 40 and 45 per ring and cuff link). Starting with plain sheets of metal we design and create our components one at a time. Some of the key steps include preparing the metal and design work, etching the imagery and cutting custom shapes. Shaping is done with a manual hydraulic press (2000 lbs plus per a component) to create stronger, more durable and professionally shaped components. Each piece is finished with a meticulous hand applied coloring process wherein each color is individually applied and often on different days to allow for the lengthy drying process (up to 72 hours). One day, while my daughter and I were drawing, a large shadow passed over our living room window, blocking the light. Then it happened again. She ran to the window and excitedly told me there were two giant Bald Eagles soaring above our house.
We watched in awe as they landed in nearby trees, giving us the perfect opportunity to take photos of these majestic birds of prey. That unforgettable moment inspired this painting.

This dragon is our own design based on our studies of heraldic dragons. Since we are both personally interested in the lore and mythology of dragons...and because dragons may just be the number one requested image at our booth we wanted to make a special dragon together. The other inspiration behind this dragon was drawn from our multiple trips to Europe. Our intension with this design was to create a classy dragon that could be worn by any one who admires dragons. These earrings are made of pure copper and the unusual shape gives them an extra edginess. The glossy black inlay on the copper creates a very classy combination. You can wear these with a semi-casual attire or with a casual attire.

This is a etched and hand dyed corseted waist cinch belt that you can wear over top of an outfit. It can be used for everyday wear or for costume purposes. The sides of the belt has wings and floral etchings and the back has a etched Victorian design.
The size to have it completely closed is 25-26. The mannequin is wearing it around a size 27 which features the lacing of the belt.

This raven book is handcrafted by Edmonton based artists Six Wings by Skrocki Design. The casing for this book was created from top-quality leather, hand carved and tooled, hand-dyed, and hand-bound. The inside cover shows a large stamp that was made in the studio. The pages in this book are acid-free thick card stock and ideal for writing, drawing, photos, or keepsakes (there are optional lined pages as well, 24lb paper is used). The book can be rebound when you have filled the pages as well, so the case can be used for a long time. We try to create the pieces we always hoped to find, in this way we have created truly one-of-a-kind pieces that no one else will have.

Books have been used for centuries to chronicle every aspect of human life and knowledge but one of the most important things books have captured over time are the stories and spirit of those who poured themselves into the pages. Our books capture the romanticism of the classic journal or artists pad by employing a classic binding, high quality leather, and blank pages to beckon the imagination. Our collection dives deeper still into the owners life as each piece is created to be a stand-alone functional piece of artwork which can be filled with treasures from their minds, hearts and lives. As works of art they can be displayed prominently on a shelf or coffee table to create an eye-catching feature. Drawing from our love of travel and the classical era these books are intended to be taken into the moments that define people and used as the scribe to capture the events of the day or maybe of a life time. The acid free pages are ideal for writing, drawing, sketching, photographs, keepsakes, souvenirs, and more. Each book can have new pages added if the user wishes to keep using the jacket or would like to add their own preferred papers in.

How we make our pieces:
Each book in this series is meticulously hand carved, hand dyed, hand finished and hand bound. Each image carved onto these books is an original created from our inspirations, which include: fantasy, travelling to ancient ruins, history and mythology. Some of these books are also hand painted with special leather paints and overlays. The leather used is an ethically sourced tooling hide that softens in over time. All of the leather used for these books is vegetable tanned and is a byproduct of the food industry. The acid free wheat straw pages are great for: writing, drawing, sketching, pen, pencil, etc. The classic bind used on these books gives an elegant old-world finish and allows the user or local book-binding clubs to easily rebind the book with any type of paper. The dyes used are an environmentally friendly water based dye which leaves a rich hand-finished touch on each book bringing out the unique highlights, grains, and character of each piece of leather*. We use a variety of different, hand applied, finishes to both protect and emphasize the leathers natural beauty. Finishes may include, but are not limited to, any or all of the following depending on the piece: high quality oils, waxes, gums, and protective coats. Each book is hand buffed once the finishes have set to give it a resilient sheen.

Blue and White Trinity Knot Earrings in Copper

Each metal component, made in our Alberta, Canada, studio, is the product of a rigorous 35-45 step process (around 35 per earring or pendant and between 40 and 45 per ring and cuff link). Starting with plain sheets of metal we design and create our components one at a time. Some of the key steps include preparing the metal and design work, etching the imagery and cutting custom shapes. Shaping is done with a manual hydraulic press (2000 lbs plus per a component) to create stronger, more durable and professionally shaped components. Each piece is finished with a meticulous hand applied coloring process wherein each color is individually applied and often on different days to allow for the lengthy drying process (up to 72 hours). This is a high-quality art print of my original watercolour painting, Swimming in the Stars.
Inspired by the graceful beauty of Canadian geese, this piece captures a peaceful moment from a local park. One evening, as the sun was setting and the stars began to appear, we stood by a pond filled with hundreds of geese.
My daughter, just five years old at the time, gazed at the shimmering water and said, "Look at how beautiful the reflection of the setting sun is on the pond. Soon the stars will be out, and the birds will look like they are swimming in the stars."
That magical moment quickly turned chaotic when some unexpected geese behind us decided to chase us away! But the inspiration remained, and I wanted to capture that dreamlike, peaceful scene in this painting.
